THE WONDERFUL MALADYS

Sembra che Sarah tornerà in televisione per un progetto di Charles Randolph per la HBO, THE WONDERFUL MALADYS narra le turbolente vicende di 3 adulti che hanno perso da giovani i loro genitori.
Randholp descrive il personaggio della Gellar come "una sorta di immaturità zelante", come un "drogato" sulle cose da fare.


Sarah Michelle Gellar is eyeing a return to television with a half-hour project set up at HBO from screenwriter Charles Randolph.

Set in Gotham, "The Wonderful Maladys" ensembler revolves around the dysfunctional lives of three adult siblings who lost their parents at a young age.

Randolph described Gellar’s character as having "a kind of zealous immaturity — like a drug addict with a to-do list."

Randolph wrote the script on spec last year with Gellar and HBO in mind. HBO recently bought the script and is aiming to shoot the single-camera pilot early next year. Gellar and Randolph will serve as exec producers should the project go forward, along with Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

"We’re on a fast track," said Brillstein CEO Jon Liebman.

Gellar has focused on features since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" ended its seven-year run in 2003. She called the chance to do a series with Randolph, Brillstein and HBO "a terrific next chapter for me."

Randolph’s feature credits include 2003’s "The Life of David Gale" and 2005’s "The Interpreter." At present he’s writing "Gucci," for helmer Ridley Scott and Fox 2000.

Gellar and Randolph are repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners.

Sarah parteciperà al Dom Perignon Charity Reception for CARE la fondazione di cui è ambasciatrice all' Ivy Hotel a San Diego il 26 settembre prossimo.

She will host a Dom Perignon Charity Reception for CARE. 

The Ivy Hotel will commemorate its first anniversary on Friday, September 26 through Sunday, September 28with a weekend-long celebration of celebrity appearances, entertainment and signature Ivy Hotel style. A portion of the proceeds from the three-day event will benefit CARE, a leading humanitarian organization that fights global poverty by empowering women. One of the weekend's highlights is an exclusive Dom Perignon Charity Reception hosted by CARE Ambassador Sarah Michelle Gellar on Saturday, September 27.

MTV: What characters (outside of the Turtles, of course) are most likely to end up in a live-action film like this? Will Shredder be involved?
PL: Given that we have yet to settle on a story for this new hybrid movie, I don’t really know which characters will appear in it. It would be fun to do something with the Shredder, but I am also excited about the possibility of creating some new characters for the movie.
MTV: Are there any actors who come to mind when thinking about potential characters in the film?
PL: I really liked the way Elias Koteas and Judith Hoag brought Casey and April to life in the first live-action movie — they each did a fantastic job. Unfortunately, I think they might be a little too old to play these characters now (even if they wanted to, and I have no idea if they would). However, I think Chris Evans and Sarah Michelle Gellar did wonderful work voicing the Casey and April characters in the recent CGI “TMNT” movie, and I think it would be really cool if we could get them to reprise those roles, but this time “in the flesh.” I think that might be the first time something like that has happened.
